FIVE YEARS OF FLORIANI

Our anthem to St. Floriani, composed by Giorgio

Dear Friends of Floriani,

On May 4th — fittingly, the feast of St. Florian, our patron saint — we celebrated the 5th anniversary of Floriani’s first public performance, as well as the approval date of our nonprofit application.

Five years ago, we could not have imagined what God had in store.

Since then, we have sung in over 100 churches around the world, built a global audience through YouTube and social media, and gathered a mission community of more than 2,000 supporters who make this apostolate possible through prayer, encouragement, and financial support.

Over those years, we released our studio album Chants of Deliverance, which has reached nearly 10 million collective views and over 2 million unique listeners on YouTube alone. More recently, we completed recording another full-length album with a Grammy-winning producer — and we are very excited to share more details about that in the near future.

What began as a small group of friends singing sacred music has become something far larger than ourselves: a growing movement of people rediscovering the beauty, transcendence, and evangelizing power of the Catholic musical tradition.

Thank you for helping sustain this mission over the past five years. We are deeply grateful.

MEXICO: AN UNEXPECTED MISSION

Last month, we spent a week in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, recording content, taking promotional photographs, and preparing future media projects.

What we did not expect was that the trip would turn into an impromptu mission.

While singing in the beautiful Templo de San Francisco, a visiting priest overheard us and introduced us to the pastor, a Franciscan priest named Fr. Martín. He warmly invited us to provide music for the daily morning Masses throughout the week.

The first morning, there were perhaps twenty people present. After Mass, the entire congregation gathered around us for photos and conversation, expressing profound gratitude for the music.

The next morning, attendance doubled.

By Friday, we were invited to sing for a Votive Mass of St. Francis in a nearly full church, followed by a short sacred concert afterward.

At the conclusion of the concert, the entire congregation extended their hands over us while Fr. Martín offered a blessing on behalf of the parish.

It was one of those deeply humbling reminders that sacred music transcends language and culture — and that beauty continues to open hearts everywhere.

We are incredibly grateful to the people of San Miguel de Allende and the parish of Templo de San Francisco for their generosity, hospitality, and kindness.

COLLEGIUM: SECOND WAVE APPLICATIONS

Collegium spots are filling up, and we are approaching the deadline for the second wave of applications.

If you are discerning participation, now is the time to apply.

Second Wave applications close May 15th.

WISHLIST

A HURDY GURDY

The hurdy gurdy is remarkable medieval string instrument known for its haunting drone and rich resonance, and was often used to accompany chant. We're hoping to incorporate it into future projects and content.

For a high quality hurdy gurdy, the cost is around $2000 (though we haven't yet found the specific one we wish to purchase, so it may be less). The video below shows a beautiful example of the hurdy gurdy's potential.

If you are interested in helping us acquire one for the mission, contact us at florianisacredmusic@gmail.com

Thank You

Thank you again for supporting Floriani.

Every prayer, donation, share, subscription, and conversation helps this mission continue growing.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,

Floriani
