Back in June, Floriani held its first ever Summer Chant Camp, for children ages 5-15, during which we introduced the students to the art of conducting Gregorian chant. We chose six of them to conduct a piece for the final Mass, and the following compilation shows a bit of their progress.
Hats off to these young conductors!
Keep in mind that they only had two days to prepare, and none of them had any experience conducting before! So much for chant being inaccessible to the youth.
It was a delight to see them take on this challenge and flourish. Now, enjoy this enchanting (pun intended) Kyrie from the Missa Sancti Hildegardis in its entirety, lead by one of our students. Pax Christi!
