- Gregory DiPippo, New Liturgical Movement
Begun in 2013 by composer/director Giorgio Navarini, Floriani is dedicated to the beautification of the sacred liturgy through vocal music. Our mission is to inspire and teach by returning to the roots of liturgical music, from Gregorian chant to sacred polyphony.
We are an ensemble of male students from Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California, though our members hail from all over the country!
TO TEACH AND INSPIRE
In an effort to share the beauty of sacred music and to inspire the revival of this lost culture, we travel around the country to sing for liturgies, to lead missions and seminars, and to perform. We offer workshops including introductions to singing and reading chant for music directors, as well as full parish missions to help kick start your own sacred music program!
Our focus is on the diverse plethora of Sacred music, from Gregorian chant to 16th century polyphony to traditional American hymns. However, our interest in choral music spreads the gamut, including barbershop classics, traditional African songs, Irish folk songs, and more.
